Jesus, God and Man
Only a madman would falsely say he is God and risk dying for do so. Jesus says so and proves it, without boasting of powers or aspiring after social success. His only goal is to love us and teach us to love.
“Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28)
If it was a fierce, distant or vindictive God we feared… may we quickly become atheists, because there is no such God. Everything in Jesus is free love, with all and forever. He is the definition of “love…” not in theory, but real and incarnate.
“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” (John 13:34)
Jesus does not ask for the impossible. If he expects us to love so much… it’s because he offers his heart in exchange for ours. A transplant we can accept or refuse.
“Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel 36:24-26)
Jesus is neither a legend nor someone to remember with awe. Anybody can put his healing power to the test, today.
“And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
If we feel lost, Jesus takes us home.
“I am the door […]” “I am the way […]” “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” “[…] for without Me you can do nothing.”
